First Kiss

I thought this photo would do well when I entered it in a photography competition. I got 3 prizes, including the overall award, but this didn't win anything.

Still one of my favourites though.

I've been able to get some decent action shots since I started shooting sports but they've always lacked emotion. The Ballinderreen minor team fell at the quarter-final at the weekend by 2 points and the disappointment is palpable.

It's one of my favourite shots but it's tinged with sadness to see a good bunch of lads fall short of where they hoped to be.

Nephew

It was my nephew Liam's first birthday recently and I was looking through some old pictures I had buried on my hard drive. I though the monochrome treatment worked well on this one.

Focus

I travelled down to Limerick to see my old team, the University of Limerick Vikings, play in their second consecutive Shamrock Bowl and the third in the club's 6 year history. It was a grwat game with the Vikings emerging victorious over the Cork Admirals 22-14. A wonderful advertisement for the game in Ireland.

I liked how this photograph came out.

Since my hurling career has stalled and I'm spending more time on the sidelines than I would like I've begun to smuggle my camera onto the pitch. This is the best shot in my opinion that I got from this game.
